On a sunny Saturday, 60 members of the Med Chi repaired to the Theatre Royal in Glasgow by train, car and bus. There we a had fascinating visit, guided by Alex Reedijk, the General Director of Scottish Opera, firstly to see around the impressive new foyer with its double spiral staircase and a viewing platform where we could see the Campsies, then to enjoy an excellent lunch with wine. After lunch we were treated to the dress rehearsal for La Boheme – well worth a visit when it reaches Edinburgh’s Festival Theatre in early June.
The day was organised by our former President, Walter, who also did all the introductions and the vote of thanks, ably assisted by Rosie Dixon, our Senior Secretary. A splendid day out with many members waxing lyrically about the event. A big thank you to all concerned.
